An Update On My Four Legged Toddlers

Shey has been spending her days sneaking onto the white sofa when I'm not downstairs and instigating foul play with Dayton & Tula when I am downstairs. She typically gives me those puppy eyes and pretends like she's not being bad. Tula on the other hand, faithfully sits at the bottom of the stairs and pants (accumulating a pile of slippery drool), waiting for her 3 masters to come downstairs. Once downstairs, she prances, noses, licks, chases Dayton and then settles down for a nap somewhere close to Saige or myself. *sigh* Oh to be a dog....

Visitors From The North

In February, my sister & nephew came for a 2 week visit. They had perfect weather the entire time. Dayton LOVED his cousin and followed him around everywhere. We spent days at the beach whale watching and searching for sea life. Brandon saw plenty of tropical fish & sea turtles when he went snorkeling. We did a couple of hikes. One of the pictures is the beautiful view of Waikiki Beach & Honolulu from the top of Diamond Head mountain. Well worth the part of the hike that involved climbing 99 very steep stairs. We look forward to seeing them next year.

Bits & Pieces About Saige

So, bows have become a choking hazard in our house. Saige now knows when she has them in her hair and immediately pulls them out and starts sucking on them. Guess if I want to keep using bows I should upgrade to a larger size. I'm not sure that she has enough hair to hold a larger bow though. So far she seems to keep hats on, but it is so darn windy here that they don't stay on for long unless they have a strap under the chin. I also chose these two pictures because both of them show outfits that were retired this past weekend. My little girl is growing up AND out. *sniff sniff*

Dayton's Corner of Boy Stuff

Since posting this blog, I've gotten so many comments from people about how grown up Dayton looks. It's true, he really does look like a little boy now and certainly acts like it! Lately he has become SO independent and at times becomes quite angry if you don't let him do something himself. He likes to climb into the car by himself now; though doesn't understand why he can't sit between the carseats! He makes his own Mac'n Cheese (with little direction) and some parental supervision with the microwave of course! He likes to pick out his own clothes some days (this I find frustrating because he will empty all his drawers in search of the "perfect" outfit). He likes to choose his own breakfast and has developed preferences for how he likes his food prepared. For instance, he no longer likes his bananas cut in half - he wants the whole darn thing...he gets mad if you rip his cheese strings up and likes to get it out of the package himself. I suppose it is all part of growing up, but as a parent, sometimes it is just so much easier and quicker to do things for him. I feel bad for Scott because I forget to tell him all these little things and Dayton will get mad at him when he doesn't do something they way I've started to let him do it.
